In today’s passage, we see how much the World hates God. As we look at the account of Jesus being condemned to death, we see the hatred of those who wanted to kill Him manifested in three ways: In the way that they tried to find a false witness to accuse Him, in the way that they accuse Him of speaking blasphemy when they know that He is speaking the truth, and in the way they mock and beat Him once He is condemned.
We also see that if the World hates Jesus in this way, it will also hate those who live like Him and speak of Him to others.
We are encouraged to focus not on the fact that we as Christians will be hated because of Christ, but that in this suffering we will have fellowship with Him.
