As we begin this year’s Reformation lecture series, we introduce John Calvin by comparing his doctrines and beliefs with those of Martin Luther, whom we studied last year (follow the series link to the right). They both had different backgrounds and educations, but they both reached similar conclusions on what a true Christian is. Though in some issues of secondary importance their doctrine differed, God prepared them and gifted them for His purposes and used them mightily in His Kingdom. We should learn from their example to love our brethren whose beliefs may differ from our own.
