Jesus broadens His discussion on the hardships the Apostles would face in preaching the Word to include all disciples. He shows us that the more we come to be like Him (and this should be the desire of our hearts as His children), the more we will know the hatred and opposition of the world. We look at the following points:

  • In what way is it always true that a disciple is not above his teacher nor a slave above his master?
  • In what ways is this specially so when the Master and Teacher is Christ?
  • What does the name, Beelzebul mean?
  • Why and how will the disciples of Christ face hostility in this world?
  • What tendencies can we see today that indicate that times of true persecution for believers may be coming?

We explore the ways that we can comfort and support one another in the family of the church as we receive the kind of hatred from the world that living for Christ will inevitably bring.
