Jesus has more to say to us about why we should not fear men but should fear God. Here, He tells His disciples that God’s sovereign plan extends over all things - right down to relatively worthless creatures and even to the hairs of our heads. The encouraging thing here is that men are worth more than many sparrows in God’s sight. This is true even for fallen, rebellious man. How much more, then, is it true of men regenerated in Christ and purchased through His blood.
Since God’s plan is to work all things together for good to them that love Him, we should not fear men or any other circumstances if we are God’s children. Everything that happens to us is good and were we to change it, it would be less good.
The question then is this - are we God’s children, for whom all things are working for good, or not? We look at how we may know, and see what we must do to become God’s if we are not His already.
