We consider a prophecy of Balaam and two of Moses that further revealed who the Messiah would be, but also how God’s people would react to Him. We see:

  • That the Christ who was yet far off would be king
  • That He would be Redeemer, a Shepherd, an Intercessor and Prophet
  • That the Jews who were the heirs of all of these blessings would actually reject Him resulting in His turning to the Gentiles.

Looking back on the events of Christ’s time, we see how these prophecies were fulfilled and we are encouraged to receive this Christ as the only Savior from sin, and not to reject Him as Israel did.
