Paul comes to the devastating conclusion to his argument. He has demonstrated that the Jews and the Gentiles are all together ‘under sin’. He now shows what God’s assessment of the human condition, outside of Christ, actually is.

We review what it means to be under sin and then look at the picture painted of sinful man by the Word of God. We see how we are incapable of doing anything good, how sin has corrupted every part of our being and how, left to our own devices, we must certainly be condemned and perish. We are encouraged to rejoice again in the electing and saving love of God, that we who know the Savior have been brought out from being under sin and are now free to love, praise, adore and worship our gracious and glorious God.
