As God’s work of redemption continues to be applied, we consider the answers to two questions:

  • What was the wall that separated the Jews and Gentiles, of which Paul speaks in our text?
  • Why did that wall need to come down?

We see that a right understanding of the answers to these questions has direct application to us as Gentiles: the wall has been broken down to make salvation available to us. Therefore, if we are trusting in Jesus Christ and have been brought near by His blood, we should give Him all our love, the worship He desires, and use all our gifts and resources to build His kingdom. We are warned that if we are not believers, then a wall still exists between us and God and we need to come now to Jesus for salvation.
