Jesus moves on in His ministry and comes to His home town of Nazareth. Here, He receives little in the way of welcome and the people seem intent on finding natural explanations for why this man, whom the knew so well, was able to do these works of power and speak these words of wisdom.
We see how this applies in the present age, where so many cling to absurd notions concerning the origin of the universe rather than accept that it is the work of God. We also apply their rejection of Jesus to the situation where a minister arises to pastor a church who was born and raised in that congregation. The warning to us all is that we should be careful not to have a heart of unbelief that will not receive the Word of God, regardless of how it comes to us. Those who are now unbelievers are particularly warned and urged to come to Christ
Finally, we look at the fact that Jesus did few miracles in Nazareth because of their lack of faith and we examine what this actually means.
