Paul now lays out God’s way of salvation. A righteousness is needed that will satisfy God’s justice - but Paul has already shown and declares again that both Jews and Gentiles do not possess such a righteousness because of their sin. The law can only condemn them and cannot save.

So if this saving righteousness cannot come through the works of the law, how can it be obtained? Paul gives the answer - it comes from Christ and is obtained only by faith.

We work through the teaching of these verses and then apply it to our situation today.
