Continuing our survey of the Lord’s redemptive purposes in the Scriptures, we come to the account of the flood. We see:

  • The flood was an act of judgment on the wicked
  • The flood was an act of mercy on behalf of the church
  • There was a new grant of the earth to man after the flood - not under the covenant of works now but under the covenant of grace

In days of increasing darkness, we are encouraged to remember that the Lord will not allow His church to be destroyed but will certainly fulfil His purposes in her and for her.
