We are challenged by the zeal that Jesus had for His Father’s honor. We see Him overturning the tables of the money lenders and driving them out, indicating that they were turning God’s house into a den of robbers.
How zealous are we for God? How concerned are we to see our worship of Him conform to that which He says is pleasing to Him, rather than being pleasing to us?
Jesus faced opposition and anger because of His stance on these things, and so will we but we are urged to faithfulness to God rather than popularity with man. We are also cautioned about exposing ourselves to the criticism of unbelievers and changing our own beliefs to appease them.
