Joy is the second fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22 and we are commanded to rejoice in the Lord always. Yet it seems to be an aspect of the Christian life which we often overlook.

This morning we consider a number of Bible passages to understand this subject better and we ask the following questions:

  • What is Christian joy?
  • Why is it important that we be joyful?
  • How can we grow stronger in joy?

Finally, we see the indestructible nature of true joy and why it is that we can rejoice in all situations. The lost are totally devoid of this joy, knowing only its pale reflection in this world. They are exhorted to come to Christ. Believers are encouraged to see the importance of this aspect of the Christian life and to commit themselves to obey the command to rejoice in the Lord.
