Jesus has answered the Sadducees but the Pharisees gather together to try and test Him again. A lawyer among them asks Him which is the great commandment of the law. Jesus answers that it is to love God with all our heart, mind and soul and that the second is like it - to love our neighbor as ourselves. On these, He says, depend all the Law and the Prophets.

We examine what it means to love God in this way, and how we can know whether we do or not. We also find out what it means to love our neighbor as ourselves.

We are challenged to examine the nature and quality of our love and to come to God for the grace we need to love Him better and our neighbors (even if they are our enemies) as we love ourselves.
