After responding to the call to Macedonia, Paul and Silas are harassed by a fortune-telling, demon-possessed slave woman. Her owners become angry with Paul when he casts out her demon, because she was making money for them. They drag Paul and Silas to the authorities who throw them into jail. From Paul and Silas’ experience, we can see that:

  • Satan will do anything he can to to stop us from advancing Christ’s cause
  • If personal attacks don’t stop us, he will mobilize his followers to attack us.

Paul and Silas are not demoralized by the experience; neither should we be distressed by Satan’s attacks, for God is in control.
