Jesus brings a solemn warning to those with whom He was talking. They had rejected the ministry of the Lord of Glory. They kept asking for more signs to prove who Jesus was but He would give them none.

Now, therefore, He turns to the awful warning that those who reject Christ as their Savior and Lord must face Him as their Judge. We see:

  • There is a Day of Judgment coming and all would do well to prepare themselves for That Day.
  • The judgment will be based not only on what we have done, but on what others have done too. Those who, given less light, have repented and believed God, will condemn others who have done less even though given greater light.

We are all challenged to examine our hearts in the light of this teaching, so that we will be ready for the Day of God’s Judgment.
