Last week, we saw some of the spiritual disadvantages of being alone but there are advantages also. One very profitable thing we can do with our time alone is to read the Bible – to allow God to speak to us through His Word.

In this message, we answer two questions:

  • Why should we read the Bible?
  • How can we read it so as to bring God the most glory and ourselves the most profit?

We see that we ought to hunger and thirst for God’s Word, coming to it in faith and with a reverent, humble and teachable heart. If we spend time reading the Bible like this when we are alone, not only will it protect us from Satan’s attacks, but it will greatly deepen our communion with God.
