This evening, we consider those evidences we typically associate with being a Christian: reading the Bible, praying, singing, attending worship, listening to sermons, as well as praising and glorifying God. What if you do these things? What if you do them a lot? Does this mean you’re a true believer? Not necessarily. Understanding that such acts can arise from a counterfeit love for God, we are warned once again not to make these the grounds for an assurance of salvation. Rather, believers must do all of these things from a heartfelt love for God and for the Lord Jesus Christ.
