We continue to look at the characteristics of the love that we should possess as God’s children. We see that it is not wrong to seek happiness for ourselves but that it is wrong to put our own happiness in front of that of others. Furthermore, we should not put our own happiness ahead of pleasing God.

As with our others studies in this series, we see again that Christ is the perfect example of this love. He did not seek His own pleasure and comfort but that of others - even those who were His enemies. We find that the way to know true happiness and blessedness is precisely by putting ourselves last in our service of others - it is more blessed to give than to receive.
