It is love that covers over a multitude of sins and can keep us together as we work through our differences.

Here, the Apostles Paul presents love as the most excellent way and shows that it is far more superior and worth possessing than even the extraordinary spiritual gifts that were present in the early church. This is a relevant message for today, when we have relegated the value of love greatly in comparison with Paul’s view of it.

Our problem is that we are prone to value things wrongly and look to the things of this world, thinking that they will satisfy us. The greater blessing is to know the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. To possess this is to possess everything. To be without it is to lack anything of true value.
