Peter had just confessed that Christ was the Son of the Living God, but it is not clear he really knew what that meant. Now Jesus takes Peter, James and John up on a mountainside. His glory is revealed, Moses and Elijah appear in glory with Him and God speaks from heaven to affirm that Jesus is His Son. Peter had been in the midst of saying what he thought it would be good to do, but God tells the disciples that they need rather to listen to Jesus.

We consider why it is that we, too, should listen to Jesus, and what that actually means in practice, for believers and unbelievers alike.
