This passage is often interpreted as dealing with events that are yet future for this world. We see in this message, though, that there are good reasons to understand that the passage is instead focusing on things that were in the future as Jesus spoke about them, but are now almost 2000 years in the past. We consider three things:

  • What the “Abomination of Desolation” actually is or was
  • Why Jesus warned His followers to run when they saw it
  • The promise of hope that Jesus gave them

It is encouraging to us to see how concerned Jesus is for those who follow Him, and that as King over all, He is causing all things to work together for good to them that love Him.
