Before the Temple would be torn down, Jesus said the following would take place:

  • False Christs would appear to deceive many.
  • Wars, famines and earthquakes.
  • Persecution of the Church.
  • The Gospel would be preached in the whole world.

In spite of this, He promises His followers that if they endure, they will be saved.

We see that all of these things did indeed take place before the destruction of the Temple in AD 70, and so we understand that Jesus is God, that He takes His Word very seriously, and that both His threatenings and His promises are reliable and trustworthy.

We are urged to live our lives for this Jesus, not losing them in the world but finding them through whatever difficulties He may call us to endure in this world.
