God appears to Abraham one day and renews the remarkable promise of the birth of a son to him and Sarah.
We see the hospitality of Abraham to these strangers and are challenged to do the same ourselves, remembering that whatever we do to the least of Christ’s brothers or sisters, we do to Him.
We go on to admire the power and majesty of our God - indeed nothing is too hard for Him who has infinite power. How often we react like Sarah, though, and do not reckon with His ability and willingness to do all that He has promised on our behalf. We apply this passage in the case of believers and also of unbelievers, who need to trust God for His grace in Christ for salvation.
