James and John ask Jesus if they can have the places of highest honor in His Kingdom. He points out that the way to greatness there is the opposite of the way of this world. Rather than pushing ourselves forward and seeking to promote our own interests, we become great by being the servants of all. Christ Himself set us this example, and it is one we are intended to follow.

We are all challenged to examine ourselves and to seek to humble ourselves if we would be great in the Kingdom.
