Jesus addresses something we are all prone to be too concerned about - money. He helps to put it in its proper perspective - it is a far better use of our time to be rich towards God than to be rich in this world.

We consider two things:

  • First, the fact that none of you really have that much time remaining to you, and
  • Second, therefore you should be careful how you use it.

The only thing you can be sure of is that your time will run out. When it does, make sure you’re not standing in the shoes of the rich man. Make sure you are in Jesus Christ now. Don’t be deceived into thinking that this is something you can put off until later - there might not be a later. Turn from your sins now; look to Him now in faith, and be saved.
