Paul warns against the dangers of a gospel which teaches salvation by works. He states that this kind of gospel takes the glory away from God and insults the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. We see:

  • That Paul is amazed that the Galatians would give up a Gospel of grace for one of works
  • How a person can be tempted to fall into this kind of trap
  • What God thinks about those who practice and teach false gospels

Our defence against these false teachings is to be grounded in the truth of the Bible. With this knowledge we must try to correct those who believe a false gospel that they may escape the curse they will otherwise bring upon themselves.
