We continue our consideration of our communion with the Holy Spirit, beginning with one of the most general thing He does for us - He will remind us of what Jesus said. We cover two points:

  • First, what it means that He will remind us of what He said.
  • Second, the way in which the Spirit does this.

We see that the Spirit reminds us of Christ’s promises in an effective way. Without Him applying them to us with power and according to His will, the promises are powerless to help us and to bring us comfort. While Christ provides the basis for this comfort, it is the Spirit Who applies it to us. Therefore, we are challenged to look to the Spirit in faith and wait on Him to bring the promises of Christ home to our hearts.
