We celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ by reviewing this sermon of the Apostle Paul during his first missionary journey. We see how Christ came in fulfillment of all the promises given to Adam and Eve, to Abraham and to David. We reflect on Christ’s substitution for us - that His death on the cross was our death to sin (if we are His children); that His resurrection was our resurrection to new life and that His ascension is our guarantee that one day we shall be with Him where He is, be made like Him and share in His eternal Kingdom. All these things were secured for us by Christ and the resurrection is central in His victory over Satan and His liberation of His people from their bondage to sin.
As we sang in a hymn during the service, ‘Hallelujah! What a Savior!’
