The Lord Jesus, having called His Apostles, now begins a sermon in which He gives them the charge for the ministry they would have. The same charge comes to all who are called to minister the Gospel in this day and age. We look at the following aspects:

  • To whom were the Apostles sent?
  • Why were the Apostles sent to the Israelites alone and not to the Gentiles or the Samaritans?
  • Why are the Israelites called ‘the lost sheep of the house of Israel’
  • What were the Apostles to do? They were to preach
  • What exactly is preaching and what is its purpose today?
  • What was the content of the message the Apostles were given?
  • What is the Kingdom of Heaven?

We see that God has chosen some to be in His kingdom and not others. All are urged to to turn from their sins, to come to Christ and to trust in Him for salvation, for He will turn no one away who comes to Him in this way.
