We begin to look at one of our greatest privileges as believers: communion with the whole Godhead. We see:

  • First, why John thought it was important to communicate to his readers that they have communion with God.
  • Second, that communion with God is a great privilege that we should cherish.
  • Finally, what this communion is.

We are reminded that the only reason we are able to have this great privilege of communion is because of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ.
