Focusing again on Biblical reasons for a weekly celebration of the Lord’s Supper, we consider how this meal is an opportunity for particularly intimate communion with our Savior, Jesus Christ. The Scriptures plainly teach that we remember His death in this meal, but that we do more than this. Feeding on Christ spiritually and by faith (and not literally and physically), we receive from Him the grace we need to live for Him on earth. Certainly there are other means that the Lord has provided through which we may obtain this grace but we see why the Lord’s Supper is such a special one.
