We consider how to walk with God in sincerity – with an honest and true heart. We see two things:

  • First, why we should desire godly sincerity.
  • Second, what gracious sincerity is.

There are those who listen to the Word, pray now and again, receive the sacraments, and obey or refrain from sin when it isn’t too difficult or doesn’t cost them too much, but a godly sincerity is much stronger. If we are grieved by our failures, we must repent, ask forgiveness, and strive to do better by God’s grace, then we will have a gracious sincerity. We are encouraged that though our efforts won’t be perfect, God will accept them if they are genuine.
