We consider the grace of humility from this passage.

The disciples are given the example of a little child and are told to be converted and to become like the child if they would be great in God’s kingdom. We look at the following points:

  • What Jesus says we must do if we are to become His children
  • What we must do in order to become the greatest among His children
  • How precious we are to Jesus because we are His children and how we should be precious to one another for the same reason

We are challenged to examine ourselves and to see whether we are living according to the world’s model - seeking our own advancement and greatness - or Christ’s, in which we become great by making ourselves the servants of all.
