This is the account of the feeding of the four thousand. In it, we pay particular attention to the compassion Christ had for the needs of these people. Many of them did not truly love Him; some, perhaps, were among those who would later shout for His crucifixion. Yet Christ cares for their needs, heals their sicknesses and feeds their bodies. Undoubtedly He ministered to their spirits as well.
We ask why it was that Jesus did this sort of miracle, and then apply this learning to our own situations, whether we are in physical need, spiritually sick or indeed are spiritually dead.
