Paul shows again his true heart for the Jews and his great desire that they should be saved. He opens up for us again the greatness of the Gospel - the impossibility of being saved through the Law and the wonderful provision God has made in Christ. He concludes by showing that this Gospel is open to everyone who will believe - to both Jew and Gentile.
We are challenged by Paul’s love and zeal for the Jews, even though they were persecuting him. We are called to examine our own love for the lost and whether that leads us to take action to seek their salvation, given the great treasure that God has entrusted to us.
