We consider Jonathan Edwards’ final point regarding religious affections: not only will others know we are genuine believers by our works, but we will know it as well. We examine two things this evening as we break ground on this important subject:

  • First, the Lord clearly tells us in His Word that our good works will show us that we are true believers.
  • Second, we need to understand what kind of good works He is referring to – not just any good works, but those motivated by love for God.

Once again, we are urged to weigh our hearts in the light of these things to make our calling and election sure.
