We examine the Beatitude, ‘Blessed are the persecuted, for theirs is the Kindgom of Heaven.’ The Bible teaches us that persecution is inevitable, and while we would not typically view it as a good thing, when it is for the sake of Christ and our faith in Him, we are commanded to endure it even to death and to show God’s glory through our perseverance. We have been called to take up our cross and follow Christ. By no means should we put our crosses down when we encounter difficulty along the road.
