God chose to save us: Why? We’re sinful and polluted: a stench in His nose, an abomination in His eyes. There is nothing good in us – only imperfection and sin. We have no strength: we are weak and helpless. Spiritually, we’re like rotting corpses – we’re dead. So why did an infinitely holy God choose to save us? He wanted to save those completely helpless, so that they would never be able to thank themselves, but only Him - that He might receive the glory. We consider how much we owe God, and are reminded that we owe Him our lives, and that we also owe Him for our salvation. With this in mind, we realize how much we should praise Him.
