We consider the second way in which we have fellowship with Christ in His grace: He gives us free acceptance through His work of redemption - that grace by which He justifies us, and which he purchased for us in His earthly work.

We look at two things:

  • First, how Christ purchased this grace for us.
  • Second, how we have communion in this grace.

In order to receive this grace, we must believe. Jesus says, “Come to Me, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28). He says, “He who has believed . . . shall be saved” (Mark 16:15). Paul said to the Philippian jailer: “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). Unless we believe, unless we trust Jesus to save us through His death and obedience, and turn from our sins, we will face the consequences of those sins.
